FD20

The Gilgen FD20 swing door operator is strong, highly versatile, and suitable for new installations or building upgrades. All door types, including fire doors, can be easily automated and ideal for internal lightweight and external heavyweight doors. 

This Swing Door Drive Unit is powerful enough to act as an exterior door, able to open comfortably in adverse weather conditions, but is also suitable for internal use.

Automatic operator

The swing door operator has a spring force and adjustable closing (EN 3-7) for different door leaf widths under EN 1154.

Fully automatic or low energy operations are complete with back check and adjustable hold open, transom mounted with standard rods/sliding rods fitted to the door leaf.

Integrated INVERSE function- If required, the FD 20 can be configured to ‘Inverse’, in order for the door to always fail in the OPEN condition. This is especially suitable for smoke ventilation or emergency escapes.

Activation and control system per door set

Safety in an emergency

  • Controlled spring-actuated closure in the event of a fire or power cut
  • «Invers» power-down function for smoke and heat extraction
  • Available with an optional smoke detector
  • FD20 can work with 4Safe and Flat Scan 3G Infrared safety sensors or a safety provider of your choosing. They are mounted on the top rails of the front and back of the door, providing maximum safety in compliance with EN 16005
  • Customers must buy and install suitable finger protection to comply with EN16005 & the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, to protect against potential hazards caused at the hinge or pivot stile

  • Obstacle-detection system has an automatic stop and reverse mechanism to avoid safety issues

Barriers

  • Safety barrier rails should be installed if it is possible to approach the doors from the side (EN16005)

Associated works per door set

  • 1no. 240v 13A LIVE neon lit fused spur supply, protected by a 30mA RCD must be provided prior to installation
  • If required to connect to the fire alarm system a pair of normally open volt free contacts are to be supplied terminating at the drive unit location by others
